2 Minute Online Video Report Slammed!

I released my first 2 Minute Video Report as well as a short video recently. I received good reviews and was happy with my first online endeavour. I was periodically checking many review sites when I came across another review site and was blasted by the cruelest words I have ever read about me and my report!

This man? Woman? (he/she would not leave a name…first sign of a cowardly act) wrote harsh words, inaccurate statements and even said the report was full of spelling errors which is completely false. I had the report thoroughly spell checked as well as edited by a professional writer!

I was left wondering if he/she was even talking about the same ebook. I decided that this review was inaccurate, mean spirited and requested that it be removed. To my surprise the site editor agreed so there was no harm done but it was a good lesson and here’s why…

I will not allow one rude complaint to get me down. By allowing myself to be affected by this jerk would diminish my self confidence for future projects. I will accept that those people always will be there and trying to please these people would be counter productive and a waste of time. I understand that people have their own motivations for acting unkind and it has nothing to do with me or my report.

As a matter if fact it only inspired me to be even better, we sometimes hide behind the anonymity of the internet and it gives some people license to be the jerk they always wanted to be!

I have even had a sharp tongue myself at times with online relationships only to wonder would I ever handle the situation the same if it were in person, probably not. Do we forget that there are actually live human beings that are on the receiving end? It is ironic how the internet is a mecca of communication yet we are usually alone when surfing the net and conduct ourselves in a manner that is not always reflective of who we really are.

So here it is my first online lesson on developing a thick skin! WHEW! Glad it’s over. Tell me what you think of my online video report, I can take it now!
